The JCC is proud to announce its annual Sports Spectacular will take place August 24-25, 2014.
This year’s Sports Spectacular event co-chairs are Joey and Lindsay Schottenstein and Matthew and Jamie Topolosky. They look forward to continuing to support the Columbus Jewish community in the planning of this long-running JCC fundraising opportunity honoring the achievements of Columbus Jewish athletes.
“We are looking forward to planning an exciting line-up for this year’s Sports Spectacular, with new offerings like Funtacular. It should be a great weekend for all the participants,” said Lindsay Schottenstein.
“Matthew and I are honored to be able to support the JCC and Jewish athleticism. Giving back through events like Sports Spectacular is so great because we get to see the entire community enjoying sports together. It is especially thrilling to be able to organize the new Funtacular this year, for people of all ages to have the opportunity to participate in this community fundraiser and have fun at the same time,” said Jamie Topolosky.
The two-day event will include tennis at Wolfe Park beginning at 9 am on August 24, with tennis pros Al Matthews and Matt Worthsman. That same day, a youth basketball clinic featuring NBA-caliber professionals, will begin at 11 am.
One exciting new component of the Sports Spectacular programming will be Funtacular!, a Family Day for all ages to be held on the JCC grounds and feature Supergames inflatables and carnival-style food, much like last year’s Fun Fest. The event will begin at noon on August 24.
On August 25, a golf tournament will take place at the Winding Hollow Golf and Events Center, beginning with a 9 am shotgun start and concluding with lunch on the greens.
