Gallery Players has an exciting season planned for 2014-2015!
Season tickets will go on sale soon. Visit www.jccgalleryplayers.org for updates and more. The season begins with the state of Ohio premiere of Joshua Harmon’s dark comedy, Bad Jews, from September 6-21. Bad Jews tells the story of a family grappling with the life and legacy of their deceased grandfather. This humorous look at how a Jewish family mourns during changing times will raise questions about how we hold onto traditions, pass on our values, and honor our loved ones’ memories.

Our December show brings the central Ohio premiere of Korczak’s Children by Jeffrey Hatcher to the Roth/Resler Theater from December 6-21. The play is set during World War II in Nazi-occupied Poland. The story of Dr. Janusz Korczak and his infamous Warsaw orphanage as he tries to save the lives of 200 Jewish boys and girls is one of redemption in the face of terror and inhumanity. With Dr. Korczak’s help, the orphans stage a magical play, The Post Office, and learn about the power of hope and courage.

From February 28-March 15, 2015, Gallery Players will bring to life the musical Ragtime, celebrating America’s love affair with song and dance. As written by Terrence McNally, with lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty, and based on the 1975 novel by E. L. Doctorow, Ragtime tells the story of America and its melting pot at the dawn of the 20th century, weaving together the stories of a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician – all united by their courage, compassion and belief in the promise of the future.

The final show of the season, another first for central Ohio, is one of innovation as we tell the story of The Farnsworth Invention by Aaron Sorkin. From May 2-17, the race is on between Philo Farnsworth and David Sarnoff as they each attempt to be the first to bring the modern medium of television to American households.
