Gallery Players

The 68th season of Gallery Players kicks off this fall with the incredible untold story of Dr. Ruth Westheimer in “Becoming Dr. Ruth” by Mark St. Germain, Sept. 24-Oct. 1. The play recounts her journey from being orphaned in Nazi Germany to becoming a Haganah sniper in Jerusalem to struggling as a single mother in the United States. Full of humor and honesty, “Becoming Dr. Ruth” brings to life the spirit of Karola Ruth Siegel, the girl who became “Dr. Ruth.”

In December, Gallery Players will present “13,” as written by Dan Elish and Robert Horn, with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown. Thirteen-year-old Evan Goldman grapples with his parents divorce, a recent move from New York City to small-town Indiana, and his upcoming Bar Mitzvah. The musical which runs Dec. 3 – 18 will feature a cast entirely made of teenagers.

The Gallery Players season will continue in the spring with the classic musical “Ragtime” at the end of February and Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” in May. Season tickets are available for purchase at jccgalleryplayers.org.
