Shabbat Shalom!

Each Friday morning, around 11-ish or so, a song floats down the hallway of the JCC that is unmistakable to Jews around the world: "Shabbat Shalom - HEY! Shabbat Shalom - HEY! Shabbat, Shabbat, Shabbat, Shabbat Shalom!" This is the sound of children greeting the "Sabbath Bride" during a special weekly assembly at the JCC East Preschool. Children sing, dance, and even recite the Sabbath blessings with a make-believe candle-lighting ceremony (complete with wooden candles and candlesticks to assemble), and a plastic challah. What a joy-filled mitzvah!

Coffee Talk with Shara Reiss

Be Sure to Come to the Holiday Bazaar!

The Early Childhood Parent Committee of the JCC East Preschool will hold its annual Holiday Bazaar on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the JCC. Mark your calendars now to get some of your holiday shopping done early! Proceeds will benefit the Early Childhood Services at the JCC.

Vendors are needed for the event; deadline for vendor participation is Monday, Nov. 10. For a copy of a vendor contract, including policies, guidelines and fees, please click here.
