'Totally Awesome' JCC Gala Set for Feb. 7

Mark your calendars now for a "Totally Awesome 80s Gala - I Want My JCC" at the JCC on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, beginning at 7 p.m. The annual Gala is the JCC's most visible and spectacular fundraising event that helps fund essential JCC services, while providing an enjoyable evening of entertainment and socializing to attendees of all backgrounds. Even more so in this difficult financial time, the JCC needs your support to help provide critical programs to those who otherwise may not be able to affort it.

Co-chairs Connie Lewin Tuckerman and Carrie Lewin Madison and their committee already have been hard at work planning the event. "While there will be a few surprises, we can tell you now that deejay Mark Dantzer will be spinning dance hits in the JCC's 'Footloose Ballroom,' and patrons can try their luck at the casino or wander over to check out the silent auction," said Connie. "Tasty hors d'oeuvres, such as mini-burgers, buffalo chicken sandwiches, munchies and desserts, will be served, and the bar will be open the entire event."

"There will be a prize for the best-dressed 80s guest, although costumes will be optional," said Carrie. "So don't be a couch potato! Glam up and plan on coming down to the JCC. I 'pity the fool' that misses this party."

Gala Committee members include Jennifer Cammeyer, Jack Chomsky, Jill Davis, Ann Deshe, Marc Fishel, Julie Friedlander, Denise Glimcher, David Goldstein, Pam Gurwin, Lauren Levy, Stephanie Lewin, Rachel Lichten, Debbie Meyer, Jeff Milgrom, Elise Robinowitz, Laura Rosenberg, Lynda Schiff, Caryn Shapiro, Pamela Sharfin, Rebecca Shocket, Mary Ellen Starr, Lisa Stavsky, Audrey Tuckerman, Jennifer Wasserstrom, Mary Weiler, Abby Weisz and Jim Winnegrad.

Gala Patrons may choose from four packages. A "Gold Patron" package includes $40,000 in JCC casino cash, and is $500 per person. A "Silver Patron" package includes $30,000 in casino cash and is $250 per person, while a "Bronze Patron" package includes $20,000 in casino cash and is $175 per person. The "Junior Patron" package - available only to those age 39 and under - includes $10,000 in casino cash and is $125 per person.
