On Nov. 9, members of the Gahanna Lincoln Jewish Culture Club traveled to the Maltz Museum in Cleveland for a private tour of the "Zap, Bam, Pow! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books 1938 - 1950" exhibit. "The Maltz Museum does such a great job with their traveling exhibits, and this one was no exception," said Samara Chodosh, JET director. "From the moment we walked in, we were amazed. Life-sized superhero cutouts greeted us and our private tour began under Superman "flying" through a brick wall."

"The Maltz Musuem is a great place to learn about Judaism, because it has interactive exhibits and tour guides who have experienced Jewish history firsthand," said Jonathan Lebowitz, Culture Club co-president. "Anybody interested in Jewish culture would appreciate this museum and should take a trip to it at some point."

After the tour, the teens were given time to explore the permanent collections in the museum. Before heading back to Columbus, the group headed to the Cleveland JCC for lunch at the kosher Subway. "Overall, the day was educational and fun," said Chodosh. "I only wish the museum were closer!"

The event was made possible through the generosity of the Marilyn and Stuart Cole Fund of the Columbus Jewish Foundation.
