Meet JCC Youth Sports
Recreation Supervisor Justin Morrow

Justin Morrow and a few of his Mighty Mites.
One might think that at 6 foot-plus tall, Youth Sports Recreation Supervisor Justin Morrow might be a little intimidating to children. However, with his easygoing
personality, his fun recreational activities for kids, and his stickers for a job well done, Justin is adored by all of his pint-sized
charges. Here's a bit more about Justin that you may not already know:
- JCC Member Since:
I was a member for years when I was a teenager. I joined most recently in April 2008, when I started working here.
- What I Do for a Living:
As Youth Sports Recreation Supervisor, my job consists of running everyday preschool gym classes and Mighty Mite programs. I
also handle afterschool sports for youth. Last summer, I served as assistant director for Hoover Summer Camp, and that was tons of
fun.
- Family:
My wife, Ashley, and daughter, Mackenzie, age 3 1/2. She is a student in the JCC East preschool.
- Pets:
We have one cat named Roo, but we're also planning on getting a dog - either a Labrador Retriever or a Boxer.
- High School:
Bexley High School
- College:
I received my bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, with a minor in Coaching and Leadership, at Otterbein College
in Westerville. I played basketball for the Otterbein Cardinals for two years. Currently, I am working on getting my
personal training certification, and would like to get certified in massage therapy sometime in the future.
- Hobbies:
I like to play basketball and go to sporting events, such as Blue Jackets hockey, Cincinnati Reds baseball,
Cincinnati Bengals and Michigan football games.
- What I find most relaxing:
I find sitting in complete silence most relaxing.
- Favorite book:
I currently am reading the Andre Agassi book, Open. I also enjoy reading Sports Illustrated or the newspaper.
- Favorite movie:
I have lots of favorite movies, but anything with Al Paccino or Robert Deniro, and of course, Denzel Washington, will do just fine.
- Fact few people know about me:
During my freshman year in college, I attended the most northeastern school in the United States - the University
of Maine in Machais, Maine.
- Favorite place to vacation:
Vacation? What vacation? Just kidding! My favorite place to vacation is any place warm or away from the city for a few days.
- My personal motto is:
My personal motto is to take it one day at a time. I cannot change what will happen tomorrow. G-d will give me all I can handle
in one day.
- Favorite JCC event:
My favorite JCC event is probably the end of year picnic at the Preschool. It is good to be around all the families, and Taryn Terwilliger and
Nikki Henry do a great job putting on the event.
- What I like best about the JCC:
I like the friendly people the best about the JCC.
- What I tell my friends about the JCC:
My friends usually inquire about the basketball leagues and tournaments that we run. I also tell my friends that the J is convenient
and the membership is not very expensive.
Now that you know a little bit more about Justin, stop by the JCC gymnasium and say, "Hi!"
