The JCC is offering a special opportunity during Spring Break to all high school and college students looking ahead toward summer jobs. "In order to accommodate the varying Spring Break schedules of the numerous schools, we are offering the course three times during March and the first part of April," said Phil Sobers, JCC Aquatics director.
The first round of the lifeguard training course is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19; Thursday, March 20; Friday, March 21; and Monday, March 24.
The second round of the lifeguard training course is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25; Wednesday, March 26; Thursday, March 27; and Friday, March 28.
The third and final opportunity to take the lifeguard trianing course is on three consecutive Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 30, April 6, and April 13.
"This course prepares candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, and prevent drowning and other incidents, as well as teach candidates about the role of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)," said Sobers.
Successful completion of the course will provide certification in Lifeguard Training (3 years), First Aid (3 years), CPR for the Professional Rescuer (1 year), and Automated External Defibrillator - AED (1 year).
