JCC Lifeguards will have new uniforms this season, thanks to the Good Neighbor Partnership Program of Nationwide Children's Hospital.

"The Good Neighbor program is a great opportunity for us to better relate with those in our community, and we're delighted to be able to partner with the JCC," said Angela Mingo, Community Relations director at Nationwide Children's.

Phil Sobers, JCC Aquatics director, noted that funds supplied through the program are going toward new uniforms for the lifeguards, which now are a requirement of the job.

"In a large group of people - such as what you might have on a typical, hot summer day at the pool - it is important that lifeguards be identified quickly so they can be notified about an emergency situation," he said. "The red uniforms - identical with an embroidered JCC logo on them - will assist in making this possible."

As part of the partnership, Nationwide Children's Hospital may use the JCC Natatorium for patient rehabilitation free of charge.
