JCC College Ave. Teachers Give Presentation

CAEYC Presenters
Carol Highfield and Becky Marchio presented a program on children's literacy.

The Early Childhood Department is very proud of teachers Carol Highfield and Becky Marchio, who were presenters at the recent Columbus Association for the Education of Young Children's (CAEYC) Winter Conference.

"For the second year in a row, Carol and Becky presented before a standing room only audience of educators from throughout the county and central Ohio area," said Barbara Topolosky, director of the JCC College Avenue's Early Childhood Services. She noted that this year's presentation was all about literacy for young children, featuring story bags filled with props that broaden individual themes.

Teachers such as Carol and Becky help to promote the excellent reputation that the JCC's Early Childhood Program maintains within the community and early childhood field," she said.

Orders Being Taken for Parent Committee Cookbooks

Orders currently are being taken for the JCC College Avenue Preschool's ECPC Cookbook. Each classroom was assigned a specific food category, and has been collecting yummy recipes from their families and teachers. The recipes will be compiled and published in a cookbook, complete with the children's artwork.

Pre-ordered cookbooks (which are perfect for Mothers and Fathers' Day gifts) are being sold for $18 each or 3 for $50. Order forms are available in the ECS office or by contacting Sherie Mescher at (614) 559-6294 or smescher@columbusjcc.org.
