Barbara Topolosky, director of Early Childhood Services at the JCC, will be leaving her position on May 2.

"Barbara has worked at the JCC as our Early Childhood Director at College Avenue for more than 8 years. During that time she led the program through the first NAEYC Accreditation process, initiated the Step Up to Quality project, participated in the Ethical Start Curriculum and the move into our new Ellman Early Childhood wing. Barbara's experience and knowledge of early childhood have been a tremendous asset as our program has grown. She has a love of gardening and creativity that have influenced classrooms and curriculum," said Carol Folkerth, JCC executive director.

I know you join me in wishing Barbara and her family only the best things in life and future endeavors. We will take the opportunity to thank Barbara for all her hard work at our Shabbat Assembly this Friday," said Folkerth.

The search for a new director will be conducted nationally and locally. Inquiries should be directed to Folkerth at (614) 559-6223.

College Avenue Preschool to Hold Bookfair

The JCC College Avenue Preschool will host a Scholastic Bookfair, May 12 to 16, at the JCC from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Children's books will be available for purchase in the preschool lobby. According to Nili Talis, Infant and Toddler director, Clifford the Big Red Dog even may meander in to make a surprise visit.

"Everyone is invited to come and explore our large selection of books, and find great reads for every person in the family," she said. "These books represent the best authors and illustrators in children's publishing."

"We are passionate about reading and hope you and your family can be a part of our Book Fair experience," said Talis. Books are available to take home on the day of purchase, she added.

Volunteers are needed to help set-up, take-down, and serve as cashiers. For more information, contact Talis or call (614) 559-6290.
