The Columbus Jewish Film Festival has announced that the 2009 festival will take place from Saturday, March 7 through Thursday, March 12.
This past March, the 4th annual festival was a sell-out, despite the "Blizzard of 2008" on opening night. About 2,700 people attended the six-day festival, which included films in English, French, Hebrew, Spanish and Yiddish, produced in Argentina, France, Germany, Israel, Mexico and the United States.
Chaired by Marjie Coopersmith and Melva Schottenstein, the festival was highlighted by the presentation of the Distinguished Arts Award to Dr. Wayne Lawson, director Emeritus of the Ohio Arts Council, as well as an educational symposium and the initiation of a new, all-day documentary series.
Stay tuned for more information as films are selected.
