As Pam Scheer and Rena Vesler continue their project of gathering and sorting through photos of previous Gallery Players productions in preparation for the group's 60th anniversary celebration this fall, occasionally they find a photo of great interest. Recently, the pair unearthed a photo from a 1976 Gallery production of The Rothschilds. Standing in the far left of the photo was none other than four-time Grammy Award nominee Michael Feinstein.
"The Rothschilds is a musical that tells the story of Mayer Rothschild, a ghetto merchant whose sons went on to become leaders in international banking. Michael played one of the sons in the May 1976 Gallery Players production," said Scheer.
The photo was found as the two women were sifting through boxes of photographs and slides taken throughout the years of the various productions in order to get them organized into a keepsake program and also display them during the celebration
Vesler said they also are looking for additional copies of photos. "We don't always have all of the photos taken during a certain production, so we're looking for more," she said.
