Jan Kazee
Jan Kazee, the JCC's front desk receptionist, has been named "Outstanding JCC Staff Member" for 2008. The honor brings with it a $500 award from the Joel Dinkin Fund for JCC Continuing Education to be used for a professional training opportunity.
The award, established in honor of former JCC Executive Director Joel Dinkin, annually offers support for a professional development award to an outstanding JCC staff member," said Carol Folkerth, JCC Executive Director.
Nominations were submitted by JCC staff and Board members. The award criteria consisted of demonstrating exceptional commitment to the JCC mission; extending exceptional help or service to a member or members that exemplifies the caring and compassionate values of our JCC; supporting colleagues and being committed to learning and professional growth.
"Jan's love and care for each and every one of our members is very apparent to all," said Folkerth. "She does indeed exemplify JCC customer service, as well as all of the criteria for the award."
Kazee began working at the JCC in 1994, and has seen numerous changes in the 14 years in between. "I was here through the renovations in the Diamond Family Fitness Center and in the College Avenue Preschool, and I've seen the construction of the Zusman Center and the SprayGround. But perhaps the best part of my job is visiting with the children and the seniors every day," she said.
