Save the Date for Sports Spectacular 2008

Mark your calendars now for the JCC's annual Sports Spectacular event, which will be taking place on Aug. 24, 25 and Sept. 9. The annual fundraiser for the JCC will kick off with a day of basketball and racquetball at the JCC on Sunday, Aug. 24, followed by a day of golf and tennis at the New Albany Country Club on Monday, Aug. 25.

In keeping the tradition of a split-format, the event will continue on Tuesday, Sept. 9, for an evening of celebration and recognition. That evening, Heidi Levey will be honored with the Charles Solomon Award, and Jerry Schiff and Eric Golden will be inducted into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. Doug Gottlieb, co-host of ESPN Radio’s GameNight and host of "The Pulse with Doug Gottlieb," will be the keynote speaker.

David Goldstein and Steve Yaffe are serving as co-chairs for this year's Sports Spectacular. Committee members include Bob Darwin, Aaron Gilbert, Julie Glassman, Carol Glassman, Pam Gurwin, Murray Guttman, Shelly Igdaloff, Barry Katz, Rick Meizlish, Jon Meyer, Wes Rosenthal, Joe Sniderman, Sandy Solomon, AJ Solomon, Matt Topolosky, David Valinsky, Eric Wasserstrom, Steve Weiler and Jon Young.
