Victory Day celebrants.
Musician Arkady Gips and emcee Tatyana Yassenov led about 200 participants during the annual Victory Day commemoration event on May 7 at the JCC. The event included a memorial service with candle lighting ceremony and entertainment with singers, poetry readings, a Russian children's dance troupe and ballroom dancers.
"We will never forget what the American soldiers did for us during World War II," said Raisa Patlashenko, director of the JCC's Russian Acculturation program. "This year, we celebrated the 63rd anniversary of Victory Day by remembering those who lost their lives during the war and rejoicing in the victory that freed Europe."
Patlashenko thanks all who helped make the event memorable.
