JET (Jewish Experiences for Teens) wrapped up its year with two fun activities - a pizza party and installation of new officers for its Culture Club (at right), and participation in the Yom Ha'atzmaut celebration at the JCC.
"The Gahanna Lincoln Culture Club started in the fall of 2006 as a way for students to learn about Jewish culture," said JET Director Samara Chodosh. All teens are invited to come to Mrs. Acker's room, number 168 at Gahanna Lincoln High School, to learn about such topics as Jewish holidays and Israeli life, she added.
"This year, the club has had the opportunity to meet and interact with Israeli teens and have an 'ask the Rabbi' session with Rabbi Howard Apothaker of Temple Beth Shalom in New Albany. The members also came to the JCC to participate in Yom Ha'atzamut. There, they took pictures by the camel, enjoyed Israeli food and watched various performances in the theater. On May 13, we held officer elections and already are excited about recruiting more members for next year!"
