Composer and virtuoso guitarist Eric Sootes will present a new program, "Songs Without Words," at the JCC on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m.

According to Sootes, "When a guitar sings, they say it's her soul flying." And Sootes is definitely one person who knows how to navigate this flight, with his exquisite natural gift and unique creative vision. As a virtuoso guitarist and composer, he has succeeded in his artistic quest for ultimate synergy of different cultures and various styles in music. He writes and skillfully performs guitar music in an astonishing variety of genres: classical, flamenco, jazz, fusion, folk, rock, pop, and hip-hop.

"His music seeks to reach out and capture the hearts and minds of his listeners, who have been known to call him a 'One Man Orchestra'," said Raisa Patlashenko, director of Russian Acculturation at the JCC. "We invite you on a colorful journey of music and self-exploration, the one you definitely would not want to miss."

Tickets for the performance are $15. To reserve your tickets, contact Patlashenko at (614) 559-6215.
