JCC Jewish Bookfair Announces Lineup

Details for the 2008 JCC Jewish Bookfair are being finalized now, but by all indications, the schedule looks to be a stellar line-up.

Author appearances being finalized include:

  • David Fisher and Representative Robert Wexler, Fire-Breathing Liberal: How I Learned to Survive (and Thrive) in the Contact Sport of Congress, (date and location to be determined).
  • Jonathan Sarna, A Time to Every Purpose: Letters to a Young Jew, Thursday, Nov. 6, 7:30 p.m.
  • Michael Rosenberg, War As They Knew It: Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, and America in a Time of Unrest, Sunday, Nov. 9, 11 a.m.
  • Margot Singer, The Pale of Settlement: Stories, (Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction) Monday, Nov. 10, 11:30 am *All local knitting clubs welcome to attend this author book reading. Knitting circles are invited to knit while enjoying coffee and author discussion.
  • Evan Handler, It's Only Temporary: The Good News and the Bad News of Being Alive, Tuesday, Nov. 11, 7:30 p.m.
  • Evan Fallenberg, Light Fell, on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 7:30pm
  • Henryk Grynberg, Drohobycz, Drohobycz and Other Stories: True Tales from the Holocaust and Life After, Wednesday, Nov. 12, 6:30 p.m.
  • Dr. Matt Goldish, Jewish Questions: Responsa on Sephardic Life in the Early Modern Period, on Thursday, Nov. 13, 7:30 p.m.
  • Jerry White, I Will Not Be Broken: Five Steps to Overcoming a Life Crisis, on Monday, Nov. 17, 7:30 p.m.
  • Avi Beker, The Chosen: The History of an Idea, and the Anatomy of an Obsession, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 7:30 p.m.
