JCC Begins Maintenance Program

Roofing materials are loaded onto the JCC's roof.
JCC has started a few major projects that will help to enhance your experience and also help maintain the facility - with minor
inconveniences during construction.
"As we tackle these projects over the next few weeks there will be some minor adjustments, detours and slight inconveniences you
may feel as you come to the JCC," said Mike Klapper, director of Building Operations.
The following is a list of projects with details of any adjustments and changes to the normal schedule:
- The JCC and the Jewish Federation teamed up and were awarded a Department of Homeland Security grant that includes
security enhancements, such as a privacy fence, security cameras, new and brighter parking lot lighting and front entry
bollards. These enhancements will cause little if any disruption of services and should be completed by the end of the month.
- From the Jewish Federation Capital Repair and Replacement fund, the JCC has started replacing 60 percent of
the JCC roof system. Due to the scope of work, there will be areas of the JCC parking lot and front entry that will close
for differing time periods. All closures will be marked by caution tape and signs with arrows directing members through the
detours. The job should be completed mid-month, depending on the weather.
- The center also is upgrading the main elevator in the lobby to 2008 standards. Most of the work on this project
will be in our elevator room and not visible to members. Unfortunately, the elevator will not be available for use
during this time period. Those members who need the use of an elevator, may use the Recreation and Wellness elevator,
which is located between the indoor and outdoor pools, or via the gymnasium. This elevator can take you to all three levels
of the building. Signage directing you to this elevator will be clearly present. The elevator being upgraded should be
back in operation by the end of the month.
- In addition, the JCC is finishing its annual maintenance and cleaning service to the indoor pool this week.
Until it is back in service, the regular indoor pool schedule will be observed by the outdoor pool.
"If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of these enhancements or maintenance projects, please contact me
at (614) 559-6232. Thanks again for your continued support and patience during this process," he said.
