What is JET?
Jewish Experiences for Teens (JET) connects hundreds of Jewish teens through large social events and smaller programs in partnership with Jewish youth groups. JET sponsors community wide social events around Columbus to give Jewish teens the chance to socialize.
For instance, JET hosts events for all Jewish Teens in the community, including a welcome back party in August, a Chanukah party, the College Caravan to visit various college campuses, a Purim party, and a JET Teen Awards night.
JET also hosts and organizes programs for Culture Clubs in New Albany, Pickerington, Columbus’ Northwest area, and at Gahanna Lincoln High School. Culture club members meet once per month to eat, socialize, discuss Jewish holidays and festivals, participate in activities, and work on various mitzvah projects. Culture Clubs are generously supported by the Marilyn and Stuart Cole Fund of the Columbus Jewish Foundation.

Check out the JCC Teen Lounge!
There is a really special place on the third floor of the JCC all the way down the hallway called the JCC TEEN LOUNGE! Teens, ages 13 and up, can come to the lounge to watch DVD and play pool, foosball, air hockey, pinball, ping-pong, and video games! (All equipment can be checked out at the JCC Front Desk with valid membership card).
The JCC Teen Lounge is a great place for small programs, get-togethers, game viewings, card clubs, or just hanging out! Participants are unsupervised while in the lounge. Contact Mark Moscardino for questions, donations, or programming regarding the JCC Teen Lounge at 614-559-6218 or firstname.lastname@example.org
JET will give you $100!
JET will give you a $100 gift certificate to the Columbus Jewish Community, to be used toward fees for any educational, social or recreational program sponsored by a local Jewish organization.
Details and Application
To be eligible for a JET voucher, teens must be a post Bar/Bat Mitzvah and not currently enrolled in any youth group, Hebrew High School program, Jewish summer experience or other Jewish teen program. Teens who are affiliated with a synagogue are still eligible for the voucher as long as they are not involved in the synagogue’s religious school, youth group, or other synagogue teen programs. Vouchers are awarded after an interview with the JET director. The voucher is good for one year. The JET voucher can be used towards any Jewish-related educational, recreational, or social programs in the Greater Columbus area including youth group memberships.
