Director of Children, Youth, Teen & Camping
Halle was hired by the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus (JCC) in 2007. Since joining the JCC staff, she has served as an Early Childhood teacher, Judaics Specialist, Communiteen Director, Mother’s Circle Facilitator, Birthday Party Coordinator and Camp Counselor. She was promoted to the Director of Children, Youth and Camping in 2010 and is also the Special Needs Coordinator. Halle has developed successful youth programming in Central Ohio Columbus for over eleven years and is very excited to bring her vast experience to the JCC’s Camp Program and to ensure she makes your child’s summer the most memorable camping experience ever.
Lauren is the Children, Youth, Teen and Camping Administrative Assistant.
Camp Chaverim Director
Kaley is back for her 5th year with JCC Summer Camps and she can’t wait! Kaley loves working with kids and has lots of experience with the summer camp environment. Kaley is no stranger to the JCC, Kaley attended preschool, many JCC programs, spent her summers at the JCC summer camps and worked in Kaleidoscope. She is currently attending Ohio University pursuing a degree in child and Family Studies! Kaley can’t wait to have another great summer at JCC Summer Camp!
Camp Ora Director

Shara has worked at the JCC for over nine years and is currently the Early Intervention Specialist for all three Early Childhood sites. She has been the Camp Ora Director 2009-2012 and the Camp Chaverim Director in 2006 and 2007 and looks forward to directing Ora again this coming summer! Shara received her Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University in 2003 and is also a licensed social worker.
Specialty Camps Director and Camp Aftercare Coordinator
Kim is no stranger to the JCC. Kim has worked in the preschool for over six years and was awarded the JCC Teacher of the Year in 2009. Kim graduated from Columbus State with an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and minored in English. During the year Kim is the Director of Kaleidoscope, the JCC afterschool enrichment program, School’s out days and all Break Camps.
Camp Arye Director
Marie has worked at the JCC for over seven years as a lifeguard, supervisor of summer swim lessons, unit head at Camp Chaverim and Co-Director of Camp Hoover. During the year, Marie works full time as a teacher with students with special needs.
Camp Hoover Director
Mark has spent his lifetime in and around the JCC and our Summer Camp Program. First as a camper, then as a Counselor in Training (CIT) and finally as a Music Specialist. Mark grew up in Bexley and graduated from Indiana University, where he studied Elementary Education, Music and Recreation. During the school year, Mark is BBYO City Director and teaches Judaic specialist in one of our preschools. In his spare time, he enjoys creating music, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with friends. Mark is very exciting to bring his enthusiasm and passion for the great outdoors and camping to all campers at Camp Hoover.
Camp Hoover Assistant Director
Nancy grew up in Columbus, Ohio – specifically the JCC. She credits the JCC and the JCC summer camp as the place where she learned almost all of her life skills. Swimming, campfire building, horseback riding, small craft boating, tent camping, bird watching, fishing, tennis, synchronized swimming, diving, ballet, gymnastics, sewing (really) bowling, jewelry making, pottery, cooking, copper enameling, and of course, Hebrew lessons and BBG youth group. Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the Ohio State University. She is married to Danny Rosen and has 2 grown children, Ben and Louie – both former JCC campers and counselors.
Camp Yeladim New Albany Director
Sheri is currently employed as the New Albany preschool director.
Camp Yeladim North Director
Ellen has worked in Early Childhood Education for over 35 years. She is currently the Site Director of the JCC North Preschool. She was instrumental in the creation of our Infant/Toddler program and was involved both as a supervisor and a teacher within the JCC’s Early Childhood Program. Ellen is not the only member of her family involved with the Center; all four of her children attended the Early Childhood Program, Summer Camp, and BBYO. Ellen comes to us with many years of experience working with children and the Columbus Jewish community, as well as a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Cincinnati. She has a wealth of experience in both administrative and classroom work and is excited to bring her innovation and creativity to the JCC Summer Camps.
Camp Yeladim East Director
Leslie has a BS in Family Relations and Human Development from The Ohio State University, and over 26 years experience working with young children. She even attended the JCC Camps as a youngster, and all three of her children were campers as well! During the school year, Leslie teaches 2 year old half day preschoolers and supervises the Infant/Toddler Program. Leslie is very excited to spend another summer directing Camp Yeladim.
Director of Sports Specialty Camps
Jeanna Brownlee earned her degree in Sports Administration and Business Management from Simpson College in Indianola, IA. She is currently the Director of Sports and Wellness at the JCC. She supervises the Adult/Youth Recreation, Fitness, and Aquatics departments. Jeanna has been at the JCC for 14 years.
