Counselor in Training (CIT)
June 10-July 5, 2013
For young adults entering 9th grade
The Counselor In Training Program (CIT) is a rewarding, challenging and fun training program. The CIT program is for those entering 9th grade and are ready for a new challenge of hands-on leadership. Our CITs are individually selected because they have demonstrated the strong potential to successfully make the transition to staff member because of their maturity, responsibility, good judgement and teaching potential.
The CITs will learn from our experienced counselors, participate in community service, and rotate throughout all our camps.
Participants will have the opportunity to become CPR and First Aid and AED certified through the American Red Cross. These certifications will better prepare CITs to handle situations that might arise at camp and throughout the academic year.
Community Service Rocks! CITs will spend time volunteering at Wexner Heritage Village to learn first hand that giving back to the community is important and fun!
The benefits of participating in the CIT program are endless! Upon completion of the program, all CITs are awarded with a certificate, a reference letter to use for future jobs, and if participants decide to work at camp in the future, they have earned a year of experience, which will bump them up a level salary wise! Additionally all CIT participants will receive a summer membership to the JCC which grants them access to the pool, gym, Hoover Family Park, and more! CITs can choose to continue volunteering for the duration of camp if they so choose at the discretion of the CIT Director. CITs MUST fill out a staff application, which can be downloaded in the camp staff section of this page and turn that into the CIT Director in addition to the registration form.
The program begins June 10th through July 5th. For more information please call the camp office.
