Camp Chaverim provides ...

  • Flexible summer camping options
Campers can choose to attend three or five days of camp per week for two weeks, or more! Campers with siblings at Camp Hoover can be dropped off at 8am and stay until 4pm to give parents one convenient drop off and pick up time.
  • Special events each week
Dress up days, theme days, camp-wide Friday activities, Maccabi Games and Shabbat – and favorite summertime activities like slip n' sliding, water balloons and shaving cream
  • Special Wednesday afternoon activities
Each week, camp is turned into a special themed activity. Be prepared for everything from Winter in July to a Wacky Water Day!
  • Late nights, overnights and field trips
Camp doesn't always end at 3pm for campers in 1st-3rd! First grade campers have two nights of late night camp fun during the summer. Kohavim campers (2nd & 3rd grades) also spend two late nights at camp (1 at Camp Hoover) – plus two overnights and four fun field trips throughout the summer. Third graders also enjoy two additional field trips to Camp Hoover!
  • Fabulous camp equipment
Between the sprayground, sport court, skateboards, scooters and bikes, Chaverim campers get to have it all!
  • Each camper has the privilege to participate in TAG initiatives created by the Mandel Center for Jewish Education. TAG is an acronym for Torah (learning and living), Avodah (service and spirituality) and Gemilut Chassadim (acts of loving kindness), three encompassing values of Judaism taken from Pirkei Avot that provide a firm foundation for the formation of one's Jewish identity and humanity. TAG initiatives add Jewish richness, beauty, quality and meaning to our camps through Jewish experiences and education.
  • Campers in Chaverim's Kohavim unit take four field trips including trips to Super Games and a water park. Campers also participate in special events, chugims and dress up days, plus two full camp within a camp days and a mystery late night. Add in traditional camp activities, plus biking, rollerblading, a low ropes course and a late night at Hoover, and Chaverim is the place to be this summer!
