Jeanna Brownlee, Sports Camp Director ![]() Pre-Camp OptionsSummer Kick Off Camp (June 11-13)For campers entering Kindergarten-8th grade Kick off your summer with FUN fieldtrips around Columbus! We'll go on a different fieldtrip each day plus we'll swim and play camp games. Fieldtrips will include the Plain Township Water Park, Magic Mountain and Olentangy Indian Caverns. Sign up by the day or for the whole week! Before and aftercare are available during Summer Kickoff Camp for an additional fee. ![]() Flag Football Camp (June 23-27)For campers entering Kindergarten-3rd grade Pat Noles will teach campers the fundamentals of football, passing, catching, blocking and the proper way of running with the football. Football Camp campers will also get to learn about and have the opportunity to play the positions on both offense and defense. The campers will play a variety of skill games and scrimmages. Campers must wear tennis shoes and will need a water bottle and sun screen. Please note, there is no tackling in Flag Football Camp. ![]() Skyhawks Cheerleading Camp (June 23-27)For campers entering Kindergarten-3rd grade Spend the week learning cheers, chants and fun games at Cheerleading Camp! Campers will learn proper motion and jumping techniques for all aspects of cheering. The week culminates with a Friday performance for parents. All campers should bring a water bottle and shoes (running shoes are fine), and everyone receives pom-poms, a t-shirt and a Merit Certificate. ![]() Tennis Camp (June 30-July 3)For campers entering Kindergarten-3rd grade Beginners, intermediate and advanced players will all benefit from Tennis Camp, where players will learn the proper strokes and footwork and practice skills through games and singles and doubles competition. Players will be placed in appropriate skill groups, and instruction will be provided by USTA Pro and JCC tennis instructor Eric Sanchez. All campers should bring a racquet, sun screen and a water bottle. ![]() Clay N' Craft Camp (July 14-18)For campers entering Kindergarten-3rd grade New this year! Join Nancy Rosen for our first ever C N' C Camp! Campers will utilize our new kiln and discover the art of clay. Throughout the week campers will work and learn about various types of clay including sculpy, modeling clay, and much more! Craft projects will be interwoven throughout the week. Campers will be very excited to bring their projects home at the end of the week to share with their families. ![]() Skyhawks Skateboarding Camp (July 14-18)For campers entering 2nd and 3rd grade only Back by popular demand! Campers will learn how to balance, push the board, maneuver and complete kick turns, and will progress as they master those skills. A liability form must be signed by a parent prior to camp. All campers should bring a skateboard, a helmet, wrist, elbow and kneepads, a water bottle, shoes (running shoes are fine), socks and sunscreen. Everyone receives a t-shirt and a Merit Award. ![]() Skyhawks Golf Camp (July 14-18)For campers entering Kindergarten and 1st grade only Start your child off early with the fundamentals of golf. Skyhawks will offer all the specialized safe equipment for this age group. The equipment is made for the campers to experience early success at hitting the ball. All campers will need to wear tennis shoes and will need to bring a water bottle and sun screen. ![]() Campers in the Kitchen (July 21-25)For campers entering Kindergarten-3rd grade ALL NEW RECIPES! Calling all future chefs! Campers will learn how to cook a variety of Kosher meals, snacks and desserts, plus learn kitchen and cooking safety and the FUNdamentals of cooking! At the end of the week parents are invited to a lunch in which all food is prepared by the Campers in the Kitchen participants! All chefs receive a cookbook and apron. ![]() Pat Noles Basketball Camp (July 21-25)For campers entering Kindergarten-3rd grade Pat Noles, former Otterbein player and current JCC youth sports instructor will teach campers the basic fundamentals of basketball, from ball handling, dribbling, and passing to shooting and defense. Rims will be lowered for younger campers and youth size basketballs will be used. Campers should bring a water bottle. Every participant receives a Basketball Camp t-shirt. ![]() Magic Camp (July 28-August 1st)For campers entering Kindergarten-3rd grade ALL NEW TRICKS! A fantastic introduction to magic and the art of illusion and trickery! Campers focus on tricks from famous Jewish Magicians and show off their new skills in their very own magic show at the end of the week! Every camper receives a magic kit to take home that includes a magic want to help with mini-illusions. No prior magic experience is necessary and all magic tricks are new. Magic Camp has a minimum of 10 campers. ![]() Soccer Camp (July 28-August 1st)For campers entering Kindergarten-3rd grade Campers will learn how to dribble, pass, shoot and defend through a variety of skill games and scrimmages led by Ben Brant, JCC Recreation Supervisor and high school soccer coach. Each participant should bring a water bottle, sun screen and shin guards. Everyone receives a Soccer Camp t-shirt. ![]() Post-Camp OptionsColumbus Safari Camp(August 11-15, 8:45am-3:30pm) Don't let your kids get caught with nothing to do at the end of the summer. Let them spend it on a Safari! Safari campers participate in a fun and exciting field trip each day including: Super Games, Columbus Zoo, Galaxy Golf and Games, the Plain Township Water Park and more! After each field trip campers swim and take advantage of the JCC's campgrounds. Sign up by the day or for the whole week! Before and aftercare are available during Safari Camp for an additional fee. |
