The Jewish Community Center’s 2016 Annual Meeting will honor the leaders and volunteers who have contributed to excellent programming in the past year. The event will be held at the College Ave JCC on Wednesday, May 25 at 6:30 p.m. There will be a light dinner and the public is invited to attend.
The theme of this year’s annual meeting will reflect the “Spirit of the Games” in honor of Columbus hosting the JCC Maccabi Games July 24-29. As a part of this theme, each department at the JCC will share a record set in the past year. “Using the Maccabi Games as the theme of the JCC Annual Meeting this year was a no brainer. Our JCC once again has the honor of being able to show off all of our amazing programs this summer when we invite athletes from all over the world to participate in the games in Columbus,” says Board Member and Host Rachel Lichten. “We will be celebrating of all of the accomplishments of the Center in the last year and honoring the many people who made those successes possible.”
Marikate Leavens and Yaffa Gewirtz will receive the Helen Nutis Volunteer of the Year Award for their outstanding work on the Kaleidoscope Parent Committee. The Rabbi Nathan & Sylvia Gaynor Jewish Cultural Award will be presented to the Legends of Gallery Players, the inaugural event which paid tribute to six honorees who helped make Gallery Players what it is today. Linda Proctor will receive the Joel Dinkin Staff Award for her incredible work ethic, personal touch, and commitment to the JCC over the past six years that she has worked as Housekeeping Supervisor. Several other award winners will also be featured.
