New Staff, New Activities at JCC Camps

IMG_3154The JCC welcomes Yale Glinter and Anthony Valenti as the new Director and Assistant Director at Camp Hoover, respectively. Both are current employees of the JCC who will take on new roles at Camp Hoover in addition to their current positions.  They look forward to creating a fun and adventurous summer for campers with new programming which will be featured at the Jewish Summer Camp Fair on Jan. 8.

For the past year, Glinter has served as the Outreach Director at the JCC, facilitating a variety of programming to those that live in the Northeast and Northwest of Greater Columbus.  He has worked with children for over a decade in both day and residential camping experiences. Prior to moving to Columbus, Glinter spent nine summers managing the Dayton JCC summer camp, making his new role as Camp Director ideal.

Valenti has been a member of the JCC staff for the past three years. During the school year, he is the Youth Sports Programs Coordinator where he works on recreational programming for children from preschool through eighth grade. Valenti has many years of experience working in various camp environments, including Camp Hoover.

“Summer camp is a passion for both of us,” says Glinter. “We want to make Camp Hoover a positive and meaningful experience while creating quality and diverse programming for campers.”

Director of Children, Youth, Teen and Camping Halle Schwartz is excited about the new Camp Hoover staff. “Yale has worked in camps for years and Anthony works with and knows many of the kids already. They both bring a lot to the table and I can’t wait to see what we can do together.”

In addition to traditional camp activities, Glinter and Valenti look to bring new programming to Camp Hoover this summer, including community service activities, themed lunches, special guests, offsite field trips, and more.

The JCC will host a Jewish Summer Camp Fair at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2017 for more information about away camps and discounts on all JCC day camps. Discounts include $25 off each week of JCC camp purchased that day only with the option of a six-month payment plan. Refer a new camper and get $50 off of camp. Those who register for JCC camps on Jan. 8 will also receive a JCC coupon book.
