Nominations Now Being Accepted for Jewish Scholar Athlete Awards

Scholar-Athlete group

Applications for the Don Erkis/Lou Berliner High School Jewish Scholar/Athlete Award are now being accepted for the 2012 scholarship. The High School Jewish Scholar Athlete Program was established to recognize local high school Jewish athletes who have excelled in the classroom and in the athletic arena. The scholarship is endowed by the family of Don Erkis, in the memory of Don Ekris and Lou Berliner. Both men, members of the Jewish Center Sports Hall of Fame, were active sportsmen their entire lives. Their interest and involvement with high school Jewish athletes was an inspiration to all.
