Gym Schedule

Tim Stowe Junior High Basketball League

New this year! The focus will be on improving skills needed at the middle school level. Hired coaches will instruct practices and games. Teams will have set practice times and play seven regular season games, culminating with a single elimination tournament. Players will receive reversible jerseys.

High School Basketball League

Come to the JCC and play basketball in a fun and competitive high school basketball league. NEW this year, MORE GAMES! Each team will play nine regular season games, culminating with a single elimination tournament. Teams will be formed through a draft by captains.

Randy Kohn Youth Basketball League

This league is focused on fundamentals of the game. All players will be evaluated by coaches and placed on a team. During practices, players will be coached to develop the proper skills for their age level, and will play with appropriate hoop height and ball size for their age group. Teams will play a nine-game season, each with 7-10 players on its roster.

JCC Travel Basketball

This program’s goal is to prepare players for middle school basketball through a higher level of competitive play. The Bexley High School boys and girls coaches will work with JCC coaches on the skills and fundamentals they would like the players to learn. In addition, they will share their philosophies and style of play utilized in their middle school and high school programs. Season will consist of 18-22 games against teams around the Columbus area. Teams will play 1-2 games each week, and will hold practice 1-2 days each week. Travel team for third grade level is dependent upon skill level of the players. Players who are not selected for a team will be placed in the recreation league.

Preschool Mighty Mite Sports

Your child will develop gross motor skills through a variety of activities and games. All classes are 30 minutes long. Due to preschool scheduling, times may be subject to change.

Mighty Mite Winter Break Camp

Bring your child to the JCC College Avenue to keep active over Winter Break with pool time and gym games. Children will also receive a snack.

Instructor Shelby Bakies will nurture your child’s creativity and introduce them to a world where music and movement come together.

Afterschool Sports

JCC staff will provide a fun and active environment for your children to develop skills in a variety of sports like pickleball, floor hockey and other fun games.

Youth Tennis

Sessions are instructed by Eric Schottenstein, USPTR Certified Master Professional and Andrew Mauricio, USPTR Certified and USTA Net Generation Affiliate Coach. They will help your children develop skills and gain confidence on the court. These sessions will be located on the JCC tennis courts or the Auxiliary Gym.

Indoor Baseball Cages

Please contact JCC Recreation Supervisor Josh Latzko at (614) 559-6286 or jlatzko@columbusjcc.org to reserve the batting cages. The cages are free to members in groups of three or less, however if there are more than three people using the cage you will be charged a rental fee.
