Halle was hired by the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus (JCC) in 2007. Since joining the JCC staff, she has served as an Early Childhood teacher, Judaics Specialist, Communiteen Director, Mother’s Circle Facilitator, Birthday Party Coordinator and Camp Counselor. She was promoted to the Director of Children, Youth and Camping in 2010 and is also the Special Needs Coordinator. Halle has developed successful youth programming in Central Ohio Columbus for over eleven years and is very excited to bring her vast experience to the JCC’s Camp Program and to ensure she makes your child’s summer the most memorable camping experience ever.
Tasha is a graduate of Brookhaven High School, The Ohio State School of Cosmetology and the Heritage College where she majored in Hospital Management and Administration. Tasha has over 15 years of great customer service and 1 year of working in the JCC’s early childhood program. She is a very enthusiastic person who hopes to bring her enthusiasm and extensive customer service knowledge and skills to the Children, Youth and Camping Department.
Kaley loves working with kids and has lots of experience with the summer camp environment and the JCC. Kaley spent her summers as a child at the JCC summer camps as well as attended pre-school here! She is a graduate of Ohio University with a degree in Child and Family Studies. Kaley is currently the children’s coordinator and directs Kaleidoscope, the after school program, during the school year. Kaley can’t wait to have another great summer at Camp Chaverim!
Shara has worked at the JCC for over twelve years and is currently the Early Intervention Specialist for all three Early Childhood sites. She has been the Camp Ora Director since 2009. In previous summers she directed Camp Chaverim. Shara received her Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University in 2003 and is also a licensed social worker.
Austen is returning to the JCC camp Arye for her 4th summer. Austen graduated from Ohio State University in 2013 with a B.A. degree in Psychology and Disability Studies. Currently she works in a classroom serving individuals with multiple disabilities throughout the school year. In addition to that, she is attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University in their Intervention Specialist Master’s program and will graduate this spring, May 2016. However, Austen’s favorite time of year is summer because she gets to spend it at CAMP! She cannot wait to spend yet another wonderful summer here at Camp Arye.
Karen is back for her 6th summer at the JCC. Karen has worked as a counselor at Camp Yeladim, Camp Ora, and Camp Arye. Karen earned her bachelors degree in sociology from Wright State University and her masters in special education from Grand Canyon University. During the school year, Karen works for the Westerville City School District in the special education department. Karen is excited for another great summer at the JCC!
Anthony has been a member of our JCC staff for the past 3 years. Over that time he has been a member of various departments here at the J. During the school year he is the Youth Sports Programs Coordinator where he works on recreational programming for children from pre-school through 8th grade. Anthony has spent 10 years as a counselor in various camp environments. He looks forward to bringing a summer full of creativity, new experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
Sheri is currently employed as the New Albany preschool director.
Ellen has worked in Early Childhood Education for over 35 years. She is the Site Director of the JCC North Preschool. She was instrumental in the creation of our Infant/Toddler program and was involved both as a supervisor and a teacher within the JCC’s Early Childhood Program. Ellen is not the only member of her family involved with the Center; all four of her children attended the Early Childhood Program, Summer Camp, and BBYO. Ellen comes to us with many years of experience working with children and the Columbus Jewish community, as well as a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Cincinnati. She has a wealth of experience in both administrative and classroom work and is excited to bring her innovation and creativity to the JCC Summer Camps.
Leslie has a BS in Family Relations and Human Development from The Ohio State University, and over 26 years experience working with young children. She even attended the JCC Camps as a youngster, and all three of her children were campers as well! During the school year, Leslie teaches 2 year old half day preschoolers and supervises the Infant/Toddler Program. Leslie is very excited to spend another summer directing Camp Yeladim.
Jeanna is the Director of Sports and Wellness at the JCC. She began at the JCC in 1999 as the Recreation Supervisor. Through her years at the JCC, she has experience working and managing the youth (ages 3-18 yrs) and adult sports programs and camps, supervision of the pool, and has served as Maccabi Delegation Head and Games Director. Before coming to the JCC, Jeanna worked in recreation and athletics at a Park District in Illinois and a private baseball/softball club in Iowa. Jeanna graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, IA with a degree in Sports Administration and Business Management.
