Water Aerobics
All ages and fitness levels can benefit from aquatic exercise & water aeorbics. While the water will protect and lessen impact on the joints, the water also surrounds the body with constant resistance to build strength, endurance, and increase flexibility. Jump in and join us! The pool is for everyone!
The JCC offers aquatic fitness classes — both deep and shallow water workouts — for a variety of fitness levels and to those with specialized conditions. Classes are free to all members. Specialty classes may be offered throughout the year for an additional fee. In addition, personal training sessions and rehabilitation opportunities are available by appointment.

SHALLOW WATER
Aqua Zumba brings new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Combining South American Zumba rhythm and dance steps with a pool party, Aqua Zumba offers a fun but challenging, water-based, body-toning workout. So, liven up your weekend with some Latin fever!
A full body strength building cardio and aerobic routines using provided equipment and one’s own muscles to improve flexibility, stamina, strength and coordination. Modifications given for different levels of ability.
Being ever mindful of the balance between effort and ease, we will move through a myriad of functional and aerobic endeavors. Beginning with yogic breath work and centering, progressing to functional joint movement and HIIT interludes with deep stretching, we will end with the rest and relaxation of Savasana to send you on to the rest of your day.
A shallow water workout to build strength, balance, flexibility and coordination. Low impact with modifications for those with some physical limitations. The class can be more or less intense depending on one’s ability.
DEEP WATER
A high energy, full-body cardio workout using provided equipment and one’s own muscles to achieve a strong core, flexibility, and maximum body strength with deep water affording low impact on joints while burning calories. Water belts are used for stability in the deep water.
SHALLOW/DEEP COMBO
Increase your aerobic fitness through HIIT & circuit training. Using an assortment of aqua fitness tools, we will move from shallow to deep water while building strength, stamina and balance.
Variations available for shallow water only.
Like a sonata, we will begin and end in similar fashion. Class begins with centering our breathing and stretching with intention. We will use the support and resistance of the water to eliminate impact while building muscle strength. This class combines high energy cardio moves with core stability for an all-encompassing workout culminating in a deep water meditation. A balance of effort and ease to regenerate and renew! This class uses both shallow and deep water.
