In contemporary Buenos Aires, rock producer Moti Cohen is in crisis; he hasn’t had a successful act in years, his ex-wife is moving to Israel, and the bills for his son’s bar mitzvah are coming due. But a stuttering car mechanic with a talent for singing tango may be exactly the act Moti needs to turn his luck around.

Francesco Guerra discovered Argentine Tango in 1995 under instructor John Devlin, after years studying ballet and other dance forms — and it became his lifelong focus, with daily training and a passion for sharing tango’s connection with others. He has performed professionally since 1996, most recently as principal dancer alongside Katie Myers in Opera Columbus’s Maria de Buenos Aires.
Katie Myers has been part of the Columbus dance community since 2019, dancing Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing, Zouk, Kizomba, Samba de Gafieira, and Salsa. Her journey began with Salsa in Houston in 2007 and grew through the Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC scenes, including performances at DC’s Zouk and Bachata festivals. A 2022 immersive tour in Buenos Aires deepened her tango practice, and her movement is shaped by gymnastics, cheerleading, and the Feldenkrais Method®.
